A workshop, not
a warehouse.
Maison Noir began above a joinery in Brianza, Italy — a region where furniture has been made by hand for four generations.
Brianza, Italy.
2019.
We started with a single workshop, a handful of craftsmen, and a conviction that furniture should last longer than a trend cycle. Brianza has been the heart of Italian furniture-making since the 18th century — we inherited that culture and made it our own.
Every piece in our catalogue is designed in-house, prototyped by hand, and only released once we're satisfied it will outlive its owner. That takes time. We're fine with that.
Our philosophy.
Built to order.
Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer. Every piece is made after you enquire. Lead times are 8–12 weeks — worth it.
Honest materials.
Solid oak. Roman travertine. Hand-loomed boucle. We use what will age beautifully, never veneers or engineered substitutes.
Never discounted.
Sales create perverse incentives — to over-produce, to inflate, to cheapen. We price fairly once and hold the line.
